As part of the team, you'll be at the forefront of designing, building, and operating network connectivity, application load balancing, and security services like Azure Firewall, Bastion, and Virtual Network Functions. The position involves designing, implementing, and operating large-scale distributed systems, with a focus on cloud-native technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and Development: Participate in the architecture and design of various components, ensuring high-quality and timely feature execution.
  • End-to-End Ownership: Own components end-to-end, including testing, managing cross-team dependencies, and monitoring for deployed components.
  • Collaboration: Engage in extensive internal and external collaborations with other Azure/Microsoft teams and networking vendors.
  • Operational Excellence: Act as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI), monitoring systems/products/services for degradation or interruptions and driving improvements in availability, reliability, efficiency, and performance.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field, with 2+ years of technical engineering experience coding in languages like Golang, Rust, C++, C#, Java, or Python.
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas: Networking (TCP/IP, UDP, TLS/SSL, HTTP/HTTPS), Distributed Systems, Large-scale fault-tolerant infrastructure, or RESTful Services.
  • Ability to pass Microsoft’s Cloud Background Check.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science or related field, with 4+ years of technical engineering experience.
  • Experience with Kubernetes, Cloud native/Container ecosystems, and L4-L7 proxies (e.g., Nginx, Envoy, HAProxy).
  • Contributions to open-source software projects.

Compensation:

  • Base Pay Range: USD $94,300 - $182,600 per year, with higher ranges in specific locations like the San Francisco Bay Area.
