Job Description and Responsibilities
As a Chief Engineer, Site Reliability Engineer, you will be dedicated full-time to creating software that enhances the reliability of systems in production, fixing issues, responding to incidents, and often taking on-call responsibilities. You will operate systems efficiently and systematically through continuous monitoring and improvement, system/service operation automation, and process application.
Key Responsibilities:
- Building Software: Help operations and support teams by proactively building and implementing services to enhance IT and support functionalities.
- Fixing Support Escalation Issues: Spend time fixing support escalation cases, reducing critical incidents in production over time.
- Optimizing On-Call Rotations and Processes: Improve system reliability through optimized on-call processes and enhance real-time collaborative responses.
- Documenting Tribal Knowledge: Maintain documentation and runbooks to ensure teams have the information they need.
- Conducting Post-Incident Reviews: Ensure thorough post-incident reviews to identify and act on learnings, optimizing the software development lifecycle and incident lifecycle.
Primary Skill Sets (8+ years):
- Public Cloud: AWS, Kubernetes
- Scripting: Shell, Terraform, Ansible, Python, Jenkins, CI/CD, JavaScript
- Infrastructure Management: Install, configure, and manage public cloud infrastructure on AWS using Terraform
- Communication: Good English command proficiency
Secondary Skills (2-4 years):
