Production Planning Analyst
Job Description:
The Production Planning Analyst plays a key role in supporting Amazon’s Fulfillment Centers (FCs) by optimizing labor plans while ensuring cost efficiency. The analyst collaborates with stakeholders across multiple departments, including HR, Finance, Supply Chain, and Operations Leadership, to develop staffing plans, shift structures, and make strategic decisions to enhance the customer experience. The primary responsibility is to leverage data and statistical models to build operational plans, minimize variable costs, and support the overall production planning processes for Amazon's EU network of Fulfillment Centers.

Key Responsibilities:
- Data Analysis & Reporting: Gather, calculate, and present data to business and finance customers to optimize staffing and shift structures.
- Forecasting: Support input forecasting using trend analysis and statistical modeling to drive decision-making.
- Production Planning: Develop short-, medium-, and long-term operational plans to minimize staffing costs.
- Problem Solving: Analyze data deviations, identify root causes, and offer forward-looking opportunities.
- Communication: Convey complex analysis and insights to stakeholders and business leaders through verbal and written communication.
- Global Initiatives: Participate in global production planning initiatives and projects to support Amazon’s growing business.
- Process Improvement: Propose and implement process improvement and standardization across all sites in the EU network.
Basic Qualifications:
- Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, or related fields.
- Experience in quantitative research or analyses, with a focus on Supply Chain Management or Operations.
- Expertise with statistical software packages such as SPSS, SAS, or equivalent.
- Proficiency in SQL for data handling and analysis.
- Advanced skills in Excel and Access.
- Experience presenting roadmaps, KPIs, and recommendations to senior leaders.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Advanced Planning & Optimization Systems or Enterprise Resource Planning Systems.
- Operations Research or Capacity Planning experience, including the ability to collaborate with operations, finance, and planning leaders.
- Familiarity with Six Sigma tools and Lean techniques is preferred.
- Understanding of Distribution and Manufacturing Resource Planning.
- Ability to work in a dynamic and ambiguous environment, meet tight deadlines, and prioritize workloads.
- Programming experience to automate tools when necessary.
- Knowledge of performance metrics and experience in process improvement.
