Key Responsibilities:

  1. Customer Experience & Growth: The Category Manager is responsible for enhancing the overall customer experience and driving the growth of the consumables category. This involves staying attuned to customer preferences, competitive trends, and market changes, then integrating these insights into the product assortment, promotions, and partnerships.

  2. Assortment & Pricing Strategy: You'll work to bring in relevant products and design targeted promotions to ensure that customers have access to the right assortment at the best prices.

  3. Vendor & Brand Management: Managing relationships with sellers and brands is a core part of the role. You will conduct vendor negotiations, and oversee pricing, promotions, and inventory management to optimize the category's performance.

  4. Market Analysis & Competitive Trends: You will analyze customer behavior, competitive trends, and macro-environmental data to inform decisions. The goal is to drive category enhancements that cater to customer needs and differentiate Amazon from its competitors.

  5. Cross-Functional Leadership: You will collaborate with various internal teams, including marketing, merchandising, and operations, to execute category strategies. Experience in leading cross-team initiatives and aligning them toward common business objectives is crucial.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Team Leadership: At least 3+ years of experience managing teams, demonstrating the ability to lead and drive results.
  • Experience in Key Roles: A minimum of 5+ years of experience in account management, project/program management, or buying. Experience in handling vendor negotiations, pricing strategies, promotions, or inventory management is key.
  • Bachelor’s Degree: A relevant degree, such as in business, economics, or a related field, is required.
  • Vendor Negotiations: Proven experience in vendor negotiations, pricing and promotion, or inventory management.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Experience in driving internal collaboration across teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Data-Driven Decisions: The ability to use data to influence business decisions is crucial. You'll rely on metrics and data analysis to optimize your strategies and improve performance.
  • Cross-Team Alignment: Experience in aligning and driving direction with cross-functional teams is beneficial.
  • E-commerce or Retail Experience: Experience at a senior level in e-commerce, retail, or key account management, especially in the fashion industry, would be advantageous.
