Job Title: Business Intelligence Engineer

As a Business Intelligence Engineer, you will build new analytical capabilities from the ground up, using data to develop models that measure performance and report on key metrics. Key Responsibilities:

  • Data-Driven Insights: Provide actionable insights to Talent Acquisition (TA) Leadership and Line Management by analyzing data.
  • Scorecards & Dashboards: Develop and maintain Talent Acquisition scorecards, dashboards, and reports that can be scaled across Amazon.
  • Statistical Models: Design, develop, and evaluate statistical models, including clustering, classification, regression, and time series models.
  • Automated Data Processes: Establish scalable and automated data processes for efficient reporting and analysis.
  • Ad-Hoc Analysis: Provide ad-hoc analytical support for special projects within the TA domain.
  • Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain relationships with key customer groups such as TA executive leadership and recruiting management.
  • Functional Requirements Gathering: Develop user stories and drive the gathering of functional requirements.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Educational Background: Bachelor's degree or higher in a quantitative or technical field such as Computer Science, Information Management Systems, or Engineering.
  • Data Analysis: 2+ years of experience in analyzing and interpreting data using Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL, etc.
  • Data Visualization: Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, QuickSight, or similar platforms.
  • Statistical Methods: Proficiency with statistical methods like t-tests and Chi-squared tests, along with analytics tools like Excel, Tableau, QuickSight, PowerBI, etc.
  • Scripting Languages: Experience with scripting languages like Python, Java, or R.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Large-Scale Databases: Experience working with large-scale databases and data warehouses.
  • BI Process Optimization: Knowledge of improving code quality and optimizing Business Intelligence processes for speed, cost, and reliability.
  • Data Modeling: Strong understanding of data modeling techniques and experience in designing data pipelines.
  • Requirement Gathering: Experience gathering business requirements, formulating metrics, and building reports using BI tools.
  • Advanced Degree: A Master’s degree or Advanced technical degree in a relevant field.
  • Statistical Analysis: Advanced experience with statistical analysis and correlation analysis.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Requirement Gathering: Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and build analytical and reporting solutions using Amazon recruitment tools.
  • SQL Querying: Query data using SQL for ad-hoc analysis and publish dashboards and reports on tools like QuickSight, Tableau, and Excel.
  • Project Lifecycle: Manage the full lifecycle of projects, including planning, execution, risk assessment, and system availability.
  • Cross-Functional Projects: Lead cross-functional projects aimed at improving operational performance and enhancing the candidate experience.
  • Clear Communication: Clearly communicate analytical findings and insights to influence decision-making.
