Job Description
As an Experienced Back End Engineer at HP, you will lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of complex software systems. Your role will intersect software development, system architecture, and project management to ensure successful software solutions. You'll optimize software systems for performance, scalability, and resource efficiency to deliver an optimal end-user experience.
Responsibilities
- Install, configure, test, and maintain operating systems, application software, and system management tools.
- Monitor and test application performance, identify potential bottlenecks, and work with developers to implement fixes.
- Design enhancements, updates, and programming changes for systems software.
- Analyze design, determine coding, programming, and integration activities.
- Write and execute testing plans, protocols, and documentation.
- Create and maintain detailed technical documentation.
- Lead project teams of software systems engineers and development partners.
- Collaborate and communicate with management and development partners.
- Represent the software systems engineering team for complex development projects.
- Provide guidance and mentoring to less experienced staff members.
Education & Experience Recommended
- Four-year or Graduate Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
- 7 years of work experience in systems engineering, computer programming, or a related field, or an advanced degree with 3-5 years of work experience.

The base pay range for this role across the U.S. is $117,900.00 - $170,947.50 annually, with opportunities for additional compensation through bonuses and equity.
